Background
Have you ever set an appointment with someone and they missed it? If you are a doctor, this is expensive. If you are a sales person, this is expensive. This is a problem for many people types of businesses.
But, if you hire people to confirm your appointments, that is expensive too. So, how do you fix this? By having an AI confirm your appointments for you, in real time.
Main Features:
In this POC, an AI confirms doctor appointments. In this limited Proof of Concept, it is given a phone number and makes a live call. During the call, the AI asks the patient if they can still make the appointment. If so, the appointment is confirmed. If not, it will get the email address and send a form to reschedule.
The AI is different than a phone recording. The AI understands what the patient says and responds. It responds quickly and accurately. It also follows rules that we put in place. This AI application gets tuned to a specific business and responds however they want.
This phone AI can be interrupted, it can repeat itself, and it can respond based on what the speaker says.
If the patient wants to cancel, the AI understands this and acts differently. It will go down a different path and let the doctor’s office know. If the patient wants to reschedule, the AI sends an email to reschedule and lets the doctor’s office know. If the patient confirms, then it ends the call.
The beauty about AI’s making the calls is that they can make all the calls at once. It doesn’t necessarily need to go one at a time. And, unlike humans, once it is trained, it never quits, gets tired, or gets cranky with customers.
Future Vision:
In the future, this AI could do many things. It could integrate into a phone system, calendar system, and CRM any way the business wants. When patients want to reschedule appointments, the AI could do that. It would not have to get the email address and send a form.
Also, the AI could handle customer service questions. Maybe when patients receive a phone call, they want to ask a question. Or, maybe, they want to talk to a real person. Additionally, the AI could receive incoming calls, too.
And, of course, this could work outside of doctor’s offices just as easily. Sales teams could save time confirming calls; assistants could save time confirming calls for their team; etc.
All of this is possible without much additional work beyond what was built here.
